Every now and again, it’s good to take a break from the pace of a city and enjoy the breeze. Slow down. Think. Dream. Before moving on at a fast pace.
In fact, those who understand when to slow down, often find themselves moving faster towards their goals. Those who relentlessly chase, the fallacy of silicone valley, burn out and wonder why they didn’t make the destination.
With that in mind, let’s just take a little break… enjoy the refreshing breeze of a lady sitting pretty in pink.
Pink Break
It’s a lovely day. One worthy of a break. To sit and ponder. Nothing but wonder. Birds chirping, water splashing, children laughing. Old ladies giggling.
Some cars, slowing down, enjoy the view, as she puts on her heels, ready for a photo session. Others honk, in aggravation, annoyance, wondering what’s the hold up.
Stress levels, at different levels, some close to boiling over, while others mesmerized. If only we still took time to smell the roses.
We’d see, there is a healthy hue of pink in nature, for us to savor, to devour. Delicately, sweetly, even sensually. It’s there, if only for a minute.
Sure, we can rush about, but then, the rat race is usually run in concrete jungles, sharp angles, blunted curves, bruises with cruises.
Why can’t we just slow down. Breathe a little. Refresh a little. It’s only but a planned minute.

Sitting Relaxed in Pink
Just because you’re tough and strong doesn’t mean you’ve got to crash and burn. Machines need breaks for maintenance, why don’t humans need breaks too?
Sometimes, when one is able to slow down, one can remember the important things in life. Like. Self-care, romance, rest, learning, companionship, even leisure nothing-ness.
Who goes to a park in heels?
Those who just love the thrill of sitting pretty and all. That’s who. Who made the rule that you couldn’t enjoy yourself in heels in a park anyway? They need to be fired.
We have so many unspoken rules that often limit our fun, limit our joy. Those rule may work for you, but does it have to be mine?
If you want that cherry topped ice-cream, as a reward for all the hard work you’ve done, why can’t you have it and enjoy it for fun. It’s not like you’ve reached this big milestone every single day. Celebrate without guilt!
Speaking of guilt, why is it called a ‘guilty pleasure’? Women punishing one another with ridiculous rules that might have been instituted by a man or some other…
It’s just a moment of cool. Enjoying the view. Savoring the water. Connecting with nature. It’s part of creating a lifestyle of leisure, memories, activities, all while working and balancing life.
Without the moments to relax, it’s hard to find a reason to balance, let alone continue to act. We all have to have that moment for our sanity’s sake.

Cascades in the shade
Some love to sit pretty. Others just stand pretty. Anything you can do, we can do better, prettier, in heels, hiding our pain.
But, for some, it’s not about the pain. They found the keys to blend fashion, cuteness, with comfort. Elevating on a slight platform. Speaking in true form. Knowing what brands work and which don’t.
All because they took time to think, slow down and figure out, sample, network, and make the dream work.
While others throw shade, we sit in or about shade. Enjoying the calming cool, standing entertained as you make yourself a fool.
When one slows down, one has time to watch, learn, enjoying as you make yourself crazy, acting crazy.
When others trade in their peace for a piece of thrill, we kick back, relax, eat our popcorn as you provide ample spills to laugh at.
That’s the beauty of slowing down, sitting or standing pretty. It’s wisdom in motion, a little slow motion, much like a love potion… applied evenly like lotion.
The games haters play. The dreams they waste away. While lovers claim their thrown. It’s all about building, not devastating, uplifting, not down trotting.
Conviction allows dedicated evolution. A moment to sprint, a moment to coast, a moment to slow, a moment to chill. It’s the cycle of life that forestalls death. If you press without rest, you’ll end it all in death.
Let the cascades of life refresh with a bit of crushed velvet. Cashmere of sweetness. Pink is the name of the game. The color the lady shows with great luster.
The springs of hope, rise eternal, when nurtured… either by nature or man-made design. Without hope, sitting pretty is more like desperately clinging. But with hope, patience is the virtue that lifts all boats.

Even with the sun shining
The beauty about being calm and pretty, as all women should be, and most are, is the shine that’s shared amongst the best.
The sun does shine on all. But not all shine with the sun. Some, sadly, through tragic circumstances, never learn to share the spotlight. They bicker and fight, leaving ugly to denote their plight.
Instead of rejecting them, or pitying them, sit back, relax. Allow time to teach. You need not jump in and make yourself trip. Karma is such a witch. When they stop fussing to breathe, or even learn a thing or two, don’t be petty… show them how a lady is.
You’re fortunate, you’re a queen. Someone else invested in you. Showed you. Encouraged you. Made you. Polished you. The least you can do, pay it forward, to those who can lean in and move forward. For the rest, you can support, but only in so much as they’re open to support.
Even for those who don’t want your direct help, a little patience and wisdom, sprinkle with anonymous generosity, can prove to be the needed support that matures them to the point of acceptance.
We can’t give up on one another. Humanity needs all to work together. Even if it’s a minority doing the work for the majority. Eventually, through causality, a woman will realize she’s more than just that… and rise to the chance of being a lady… even a queen eventually.
This is where patience, while sitting pretty, or standing just lovely, pays off. Sharing the sunlight, even if it’s a spotlight, is a hallmark of strength, not weakness, but meekness.
Don’t worry about being judged for stooping low, to clean off her shoes. She, too, needs her velvet plushed. That romantic crush, many a women have felt, makes them rush to thrust in blind trust. But, with you there, keeping her pink all lush, may prevent needless heartache… at the hands of snakes.
She might not get it. She might not understand it. But in time, she’ll remember it. Women seldom forget. And when she pauses, sitting by, she’ll remember who helped her stand on shoulders of giants.
Even if she never gets to say thanks, one can always hope, she’ll pay it forward and help the next.
That’s why… yes… that’s exactly why… one needs to take a periodic pink break. To sit down and evaluate. Break a rule or two, figure out why it’s there, and if it should stay there.
In these calm quiet moments of reflection, one can more clearly see their dreams. Work on them. Make them a reality. Realize it’s OK to sit pretty in a park while wearing heels… just as much as it’s a right to sit in the C-suite just like any other man with or without a tie.

Breakout the pink
Warm your heart. This twist of rhyme is nearly done. Your mind filled but needs a break to let it dip… slip… move into memory… slide into action… avoiding reactions.
After the break, comes action. When we apply the lessons we just reflected on. While some will switch to their sneakers for the run, many will continue in their smooth velvet pink.
We don’t judge.
Let your inner woman break out. Let her shine bright. Embrace her. She’s the guardian of your inner girl. The one who loves pink… or another color… or a twirl. Let her play. She’s the power behind your lady’s reign.
Keep her. Protect her. Feed her. Enjoy her. Without her, you’re without purpose of your own. Living paycheck to paycheck making others’ rich on their own purposes.
That last may sound bleak. Keep in mind, nothing is fair in love and war. But this tug of war can be put on hold. When you take a little break… by the water… enjoying the breeze.
It’s just a little pink break.
Enjoy the thrill.
There will be more in this series… just keep an eye out below. Thank you for taking a little break to enjoy the words splashed on these pages. Appreciate a share… even a like. Your thoughts, if you care to share, in the comments, is greatly appreciated.
